Post-Internship Post

Monday, May 21, 2012

Hey peeps! Im finally back to blogging. My internship at NCC was over the past week. There's still things I gotta blog especially on product reviews. So wait till I manage to upload the photos. My laptop gave up on me; the technician told me that the motherboard is effed up but thank God the hard drive isn't. Anyhoos, fiance is gonna get me one on my birthday soon. And Yes, I'm engaged! Marriage date? Not now. Probably when I get a damn stable job.

So, my 3 months plus internship was awesomely helpful for my career. I love the people I worked with there and overall I consider it as a fun experience especially working with patients. I know, Cancer is a very sad word but we are there to support throughout their journey. As a matter of fact, I've come across more than five mortalities (where they die right in front of me) and it was very sad especially when you get so attached to the patients. Anyways, we have to move on.

Now, after all the stressful clinicals & fiance who also had a stressful training in New Zealand - Fiance and I deserved ourselves for a getaway!! -- 4 days in KK!
plus shopping shopping shopping!

Wonderful DCU staffs taken on the last day of work!

- New Hair

Till then, xoxo

Post-Valentine's Day

Wednesday, February 15, 2012

Hope you all had a wonderful Hearts Day as much as I did! The boyfriend was awesome and he was very sweet and very loving! End of story.

Sorry for the lack of updates, I got so much to blog about but I can't think right now!

At this moment, I'm so BUSY doing my Internship @ NCC =) And I'm having a great time so far especially working with my fellow work colleagues. Just imagine Mondays til Fridays you work 7-3pm morning shifts. Beforehand, you wake up 5.30am everyday to make breakfast for yourself and get ready to drive to work!! *vampire-like now*

Anyways, I will blog from time to time when I have my free time... hopefully!

Eyebrow Threading

Tuesday, January 31, 2012

It was Friday afternoon I drove down to KB to meet up with an old friend. So Michelle (check her blog too) booked me for an eyebrow threading session @ Phoenix Hair Design (Pandan Branch).

It's my first time having it and was excited. But I was sorta doubting that I'd get a perfect brows. Since I'm getting it for only BND 3.00, why not?! hehehehe... it's a good deal. *She recommended so I trust her* Yeah, pain scale would be 3 out of 10. Not bad for a first timer!

BEFORE PICTURE
Eyebrows were unruly, unshaped and stray hairs all over..

AFTER PICTURES
You can see the difference, it does really frame your face..

Threading is actually another method of hair removal mainly on eyebrows, lips, and any facial hairs using twisted threads (Google it!). I thought this was the easiest, cheapest and instant method to have a naturally shaped eyebrows. In order to maintain it, just pluck new grown eyebrows! Or you can head down to salon to reshape it if you don't mind the spending. As for makeups, an eyebrow pencil is a must-have! I am currently using SkinFood's Eyebrow Bean Pencil in  Dark Brown shade for a natural look.

So make sure you seek a professional or an experienced one to match your brows according to your face shape. Good luck to having yours (if you do plan to get one) !! And I'm happy to know your side of the story..

Hush Puppies

Thursday, December 29, 2011

This blog is a review on a very first purchase of a pair of Hush Puppies shoes! (Credits to the boyfriend!)

Today, we went to shop for shoes @ Hush Puppies, The Mall. Never got really into this brand of shoes until he introduced it to me. I didn't get why he's so into these stuffs. So, I somehow saw a pair that really caught my eye.

I've been seeing this everywhere in magazines worn by models
This is actually vintage! I remember my parents wearing em back in those days! LOL
Mocassins? Loafers? I am not sure of its perfect name.
This suits with a pair of  loose tailored shorts.
Awesomely lovet <3

At that time, they were having some sales of 20%-30% discount.
So instead of purchasing for B$100+ I got it for around B$90+ after discount.

What can I say about Hush Puppies?

- They are VERY comfortable! Soles are very soft and shoes are lightweight!
- Despite the very high price range (about B$100+ per pair), it gives excellent quality!
- Designs are not really my thing and is limited - mostly contemporary, simplistic and casual.
- Colours are quite dull if you look scan the whole area of the shop
- The shoe designs don't really catch up with the latest fashion trends in my opinion.

Overall, I would love to own another pair if they could have better designs for women. I love the quality although it is damn pricey!

The boyfriend purchased several pairs of shoes from there too so we were entitled to apply as a member..... under my name! hehe

As a member, you will get to enjoy:
- Shopping Hush Puppies not only in Brunei but also all Hush Puppies concept shops in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
- Discounts to regular-priced items
- 3x $30 Birthday Vouchers
- Updates in their latest promotions and new arrivals

skin79 Vital Orange BB Cream & Moisture Tinted BB Cream

Wednesday, December 21, 2011

My very first skin79 products!

My first advanced Christmas gift! I finally have my hands on the new skin79 Vital Orange BB Cream which most beauty bloggers were raving about. The other product is called Moisture Tinted BB Cream.

Vital Orange BB Cream (L)
Moisture Tinted BB Cream (R)

As you can see from the pic above, the Vital Orange is lighter than the other. I was skeptical at first, and thought this would look too light on my skin tone. Apparently, it blends well on my skin as it starts to oxidize! *magic lol* As compared to other skin79 BB creams that I have used (such as VIP Gold), this BB cream is damn creamy! You just need little amount of it on your face. When I was trying this from a sample on my hand in the store, I accidentally squeezed the bottle too much *so embarassing haha*

skin79 Vital Orange BB Cream

Likes:
- creamy texture, easy and smooth to apply
- Blends my skin tone
- Does not give a grey cast on your face
- Sheer to medium coverage depending on how much you apply
- Perfect for oily/combination skin
- Acts as a concealer or foundation
- Awesome SPF! (SPF50+ PA+++)

Dislikes:
- You look like a ghost when you accidentally put too much!
- You have to cautiously squeeze down the bottle carefully to get the right amount of cream to use

Retails for BND 53.90

FYI :: The boyfriend end up buying a Vital Orange BB Cream for himself as well after using mine. Never met these kind of guys being so skin-conscious throughout my love life! Well, can't blame his job though! And he got a 20% discount. *pffttt*

skin79 Moisture Tinted BB Cream

Likes:
- Its good coverage
- Matte look
- Good for oily/combo/dry skin

Dislikes:
- Gives a grey cast if used too much (best to use lightly)

Retails for BND 23.90

Saturday, December 10, 2011

Quite had a productive day yesterday. Sorry for the lack of blog posting. Keep forgetting hehe.

- Gone for a much needed hair treatment and haircut
- Finally bought most of the things I need
- Dine-in to new places
- Shopping haul to kill stress and boredom

First time of going to ESSENSUALS Salon @ Mall
It is worth having my hair treated and damaged ends chopped off
However, I miss my curly/wavy ends :-(
Shoes from Charles & Keith
Japanese Ray Mag & CLEO Mag
Sheer blue shirt
Basic tees white & grey
Tried dining in at SIMPLY BELLO CAFE @ Seri Qlap Mall.
Very nice interior/decos and seems that it's really popular as it is packed with loads of people
I ordered tuna melt sandwich + fries - its not bad at all!

Busy November

Thursday, October 27, 2011

October is gonna end very soon in a few days. And November is gonna be a very busy month. As you can see from the picture, every week I have to submit various assignments, reports and so on. So it is sort of a struggle in finishing each and every work with time. The last two weeks will be the final exams of this semester (half of my 3rd year). Although it is just 3 days within those weeks, I still need to revise huge loads of lecture notes and whatsoever.

Be back soon peeps

xoxo
